For pregnancies under 8 weeks, scans are usually performed transvaginally to provide the clearest possible images. In this case, you’ll need to have an empty bladder. Our team will always explain the procedure and obtain your consent before proceeding.
If you are over 8 weeks pregnant, please do not empty your bladder before your scan. A comfortably full bladder helps create a better “acoustic window,” improving both image quality and the visibility of your baby’s position.
